The Fiber Artist

Wow, that sounds pretentious doesn't it. But it is the name of my company, so I decided to use it. This is where I will keep a record of works in progress in the hope that it will result in more productivity. It will also give me a place to ramble on about my life, so that maybe later I will remember what happened in ___ (fill in day, month, year of your choice).

Spring AHHH- Chooo

It got warm here, then it got cold, it snowed the day before Amy's (oldest child) birthday (4/7) Which made her really, really angry. Don't ask me why but it always does.

I have been working on some things Rayne's flower sweater is well underway, at 8 inches done(10 inches to underarms), not a great picture but, it didn't want to cooperate and I don't have enough hands.

Beadwork gets worked on when I am rested and alert, and with the allergy season in full swing alert is an endangered species.

See what my Mom got me? It is a clothesline prop. When we moved here I had some from my MIL that were redwood 1X2's with a V cut into 1 end and a slant in the other. I gave them to my Mother when she moved up here and got a clothesline because she is not bothered as much by allergies (at least she wasn't then, seems to be worse than me now) and likes to hang out laundry. They have disappeared, so I was whining about getting some more or only hanging out socks, and she came back from town with these. So once the stupid red bud trees stop pollinating I will be able to hang out my sheets.

Socks the Tofutsies (or however you spell it) are done and I still have not made up my mind whether I like them or not, we shall see what wearing does. The bead socks have gotten past the heel (waste yarn) on the first sock, these and the cotton pink ribbon socks have languished because they are not fun to work on: The beads must be moved periodically which interrupts the rhythm of the knitting, and the cotton socks are *cotton*.

The pink, fuchsia, lavender, purple socks are Knitpicks Sock Landscape and default toe-up, ribbed foot, after-thought heel, ribbed top, that I can knit with my eyes closed and are the current carry project.

Have knit a few rows on Birch but it didn't make it into the laundry basket when I headed out to take pictures so I'll have to get it next time.
